King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center supports Tajik rescuers

The King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief has provided assistance to the Committee on Emergency Situations and Civil Defense (CoES) under the Government of Tajikistan.

Ms. Umeda Yusufi, a spokeswoman for the CoES, says the assistance includes bulldozers, caterpillar excavating machine, all-terrain vehicle having sleeping places for rescuers, an auto trailer with a load capacity of 40 tons and a cross-country vehicle. .

The machines are intended for the CoES mobile rapid reaction groups that are reportedly being established for the purpose of improving mobility and efficiency of work on mitigating natural disasters’ effects.

Besides, King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center will purchase a bucked excavator for the Land Reclamation and Irrigation Agency under the Government of Tajikistan.  

King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center’s Assistant Supervisor General of Operations and Programs Ahmed Al-Baiz noted during the signing of an agreement with the CoES that the Center would continue providing assistance to Tajikistan. 

CoES chief Rustam Nazarzoda expressed gratitude to the King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief for the assistance, Yusufi said.   

The King Salman Center for Humanitarian Aid and Relief aims to manage and coordinate relief activities on the international level to ensure the provision of external aid in line with national interests.

Its strategic objectives are in delivering external humanitarian aid and relief, developing strong partnerships with leading humanitarian organizations, developing an effective process to respond to humanitarian crises quickly and effectively and increasing the impact of aid and its sustainability through improved commissioning, monitoring and evaluation.
