Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Iraq Zubaidullo Zubaidzoda has met in Baghdad with Husam Abd al-Karim Yusuf, who is a special representative of the Supreme Court of Iraq for investigation of cases of Tajik women and children being held in Iraqi prions and shelters, according to the Tajik MFA information department.

The two reportedly discussed issues related to return of Tajik children being held in Iraqi shelters to Tajikistan.  

Representative of the Iraqi Supreme Court reportedly noted that Iraqi judicial bodies were ready for close collaboration with Tajik authorities on return of Tajik children to Tajikistan.  

Representatives of the Tajik Embassy in Baghdad met at the Iraqi Supreme Court with Tajik women being held in Iraqi prisons and shelters and got acquainted with conditions of holding of them in Iraqi jails and shelters.  

Tajik ambassador reportedly also held talks with UNICEF representative in Iraq to discuss future cooperation on the return of Tajik children to Tajikistan.
