On Friday January 18, Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin has a phone conversation with his Kazakh counterpart Beibut Atamkulov.

According to the Kazakh Foreign Ministry press center, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. 

A special attention was reportedly given to the issues of implementation of agreements on expansion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

It was noted that the countries have potentials to increase their two-way trade to 1 billion USD in 2019 and 2 billion USD in 2020 

Muhriddin and Atamkulov also exchanged views on cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan in the frameworks of international and regional organizations, including CICA.  

Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) is a multi-national forum for enhancing cooperation towards promoting peace, security and stability in Asia.
