On Tuesday March 19, President Emomali Rahmon officially inaugurated the bus-assembling plant though it has already operated for more than a year.  

President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali today visited AKIA AVESTO, a joint Tajik-Turkish joint venture assembling Turkish buses Akia.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the man purpose of the visit was for the head of state to get acquainted with operations of the enterprise.   

Rahmon officially opened the plant though it has already operated since February last year.      

The AKIA AVESTO plant that was built in Dushanbe’s Gulbuta area operates on the basis of a cooperation agreement signed between the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) “Nasbi Naqliyoti Barqi va Ducharkha” (Tajikistan) and Turkey’s Akia Company.

All necessary technologies and equipment for implementation of this project have been delivered to the country from Turkey.

The plant reportedly has an annual capacity of 250-300 vehicles.

All necessary equipment for implementation of this project have reportedly been purchased and delivered to the country by Avesto Group LLC. 

Akia is one of the preferred auto-bus brands in Turkey and Europe with its large product range.  Akia’s production facilities in Kestel Organized Industrial Zone have an annual production capacity of 600 vehicles.  Akia produces LF9-LF11-LF12 models in Euro 5 and Euro 6 standards with Diesel, CNG and Electrical options.
