Principal of a boarding school based in Shahritous district (Khatlon province) has been fined for beating student.

According to the press center of the Prosecutor-General’s Office, the principal of Shahritous-based boarding school, Qurbonali Nabiyev, has been fined for beating the 8th grade student Suhrob Mahmadaminov with a stick.

A court in Shahritous has reportedly ruled fining Qurbonali Nabiyev 165.00 somoni.  The sentence followed his conviction on charges of failing to fulfill obligations on maintaining and bringing up minors (Article 90 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code). 

Meanwhile, Nabiyev has said that he beat Mahmadaminov for panhandling.
