Fairs offering food products at affordable prices have opened in all four districts of Dushanbe.  The fairs will work during the holy month of Ramadan.

Fairs offering basic food products at affordable prices opened in all four districts of Dushanbe on May 4, according to the Dushanbe mayor’s office.

The fairs have reportedly been organized for purpose of saturating the city’s consumer market with basic food products and preventing increase in prices for the basic food products during the holy month of Ramadan.  

The State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) on Production, Purchase, Reservation and Sale of Essential Goods in Dushanbe, Tojikmatloubot (Tajik consumers' cooperation association) and the State Material Reserves Agency.

The fairs will work during the holy month of Ramadan.

The following are current prices for basic food products at these fairs:  

– Wheat flour grade I – 160.00 somoni for a 50-kilogram sack;

– Meat — 40.00 somoni per kilogram;  

– Vegetable oil – 50.00 somoni for a 4.5-liter can;

– Rice – 8.00 somoni per kilogram;

– Sugar — 6.00 somoni per kilogram;

– Carrots — 2.30 somoni per kilogram;

– Potatoes – 2.60 somoni per kilogram;

– Onions – 2.20 somoni per kilogram;

– Macaroni – 5.00 somoni per kilogram.
