Over the first six months of this year, Tajikistan has imported more than 239,000 tons of petroleum products, according to the Antimonopoly Agency under the Government of Tajikistan.

Russia has provided the bulk of Tajikistan’s oil product imports – 87 percent of the overall volume of oil products imported into the country in January-June this year.

Russia is followed by Kyrgyzstan – 7.9 percent, Kazakhstan – 2.4 percent, and other countries – 2.7 percent.

More than 50 companies now supply petroleum products to Tajikistan.

Gazpromneft-Tajikistan has reportedly accounted for 41 percent of the overall volume of oil products delivered to Tajikistan over the first six months of this year – some 98,000 tons.

Seganj LTD has delivered more than 88,000 tons of oil products to the country over the same six-month period – 37 percent.

The Material Reserves Agency has delivered some 24,000 tons of oil products to Tajikistan over the repot period and other companies have delivered a total of little more than 28,000 tons of oil products to the country over the first six months of this year.

The Antimonopoly Agency says the current price for one liter of gasoline in Tajikistan fluctuates from 6.80 somoni to 7.80 somoni depending on the region.

Recall, Tajikistan last year imported 446,000 tons of oil products and 380,700 tons of liquefied natural gas (LNG).  In 2018, Tajikistan reportedly imported 203,300 tons of diesel fuel (45.5 percent of the overall volume of oil products imported last year), 172,400 tons of gasoline (38.6 percent), 28,900 tons of jet engine fuel (6.5 percent), 24,200 of fuel oil (5.4 percent), and 17,300 tons lubricants (3.9 percent)
