Leading media outlets of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan have agreed to jointly cover the situation on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border taking into consideration opinions of all parties to the conflict.

In the light of the recent developments on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border, Asia-Plus Media Group (Tajikistan) and 24.kg News Agency (Kyrgyzstan) has signed a memorandum of cooperation.

“Clashes between residents of border areas of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan break out practically regularly.  Coverage of these events has great social significance for the audience of both countries.  In times of clashes, media outlets publish reports based on official sources of information in Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which do not always allow covering the situation taking into account opinion of all parties to the conflict,” the memorandum says.

Taking into consideration these factors, two leading media outlets of Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan agreed to:

1.            form a single chat for coverage of developments on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border;

2.            exchange information on the situation on the border in real time;

3.            publish materials on the situation using comments, eyewitness accounts and other materials so that audience would have the complete picture of what is going on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border.

Asia-Plus and 24.kg are sure that a joint work will allow them to quickly and fully cover developments on the Tajik-Kyrgyz border.
