On August 24, the demolition of the building near the Central Department Store of Dushanbe began. Residents of apartments and entrepreneurs who had shops on the ground floor are preparing for eviction.

In accordance with the General Plan of the city of Dushanbe, a five-star hotel will be built on the site of this building (81 Rudaki Avenue). The construction ceremony will take place on September 4 with the participation of the mayor of the capital, Rustam Emomali.

Dilovar Barotov, the head of the office of the chairman of the Ismoili Somoni district of Dushanbe, spoke with our correspondent about the beginning of the demolition of the building and the further fate of residents and entrepreneurs.

«Currently, there is a commission on the assessment of residential buildings and providing residents with equivalent apartments. Each owner of housing in this building, which is subject to demolition, will be provided with equivalent housing (in terms of living space in the previous apartment) in a modern residential building on Ismoili Somoni Avenue, the construction of which is currently ongoing», – said Barotov.
