Yesterday was Knowledge Day and the beginning of the new school year, and despite the day off, a lesson of peace was held in schools.

This year, more than 218 thousand kids of the republic will go to first grade, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Education and Science of Tajikistan, Ehson Hushbakht.

According to him, almost 1 million 971 schoolchildren will go to schools this year.

They will study in 3 thousand 878 schools of the country, and almost 123,5 thousand teachers will teach them.

325 thousand 125 students will go to study primary, secondary and higher professional education, of which 23 thousand 325 – in technical schools, 85,5 thousand – in colleges and 206,3 thousand – universities.
