Russian air carrier, Ural Airlines, is expected to launch a seasonal flight connecting Dushanbe and the Russian city of Voronezh.

According to the press center of Voronezh International Airport, the flight will be conducted on Saturdays and Airbus A320 will be used to operate this flight.

Ural Airlines’ in Dushanbe ha confirmed this information but added that the flight start date is being verified.

Ural Airlines is an airline based in Yekaterinburg, Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia.  It operates scheduled and chartered domestic and international flights out of Koltsovo International Airport. In 2018, the company carried nine million passengers.

The airline was founded in 1943 as Sverdlovsk State Air Enterprises, and later became part of Aeroflot, the Soviet state airline, being in charge of Yekaterinburg Airport.  Following the split-up of Aeroflot, Ural Airlines became a joint stock company incorporated under the laws of the Russian Federation on December 28, 1993, and the airline business was separated from the airport.

As of September 2019, the Ural Airlines fleet has an average age of 14 years and consists of the following aircraft: 7 Airbus A319-100s; 24 Airbus A320-200s; 2 Airbus A320neos; and 15 Airbus A321-200s.

Ural Airlines also started considering updating its fleet with newer Airbus A320neo family or Boeing 737 Next Generation and is still considering purchasing Airbus A330.  Ural Airlines announced the purchase of 2 Airbus A321neoLR that will be delivered this year with a possible replacement of older Airbus A321-200.
