An Uzbek delegation numbering 50 people has arrived in Dushanbe for participation in Days of Uzbekistan Culture that will take in Tajikistan from November 12 to November 15.

The delegation is led by Uzbek Minister of Culture Bakhtiyor Saifulloyev and its members include known Uzbek artistes such as Sherali Jourayev, Ghulomjon Yaqubov and Mahmoud Namozov as well as the “Maqom” ensemble and the dance ensemble “Toshkent Zebolari.” 

Today, a meeting of Tajik Minister of Culture Shamsiddin Orumbekzoda and his Uzbek counterpart Bakhtiyor Saifulloyev is taking place today at the Tajik National Library in Dushanbe.

An official opening of Days of Uzbekistan Culture in Tajikistan will be held today evening at the Opera and Ballet Theater in Dushanbe.  

On November 13, Uzbek artistes will give a concert in the Danghara district of Khatlon province and communicate to their colleagues there.  

A joint concert of Tajik and Uzbek artistes will take place in Dushanbe on November 14.  

Recall, Tajikistan held a five-day celebration of culture from neighboring Uzbekistan in May 2017, which was a sign of warming ties between the two countries.  The Uzbekistan Culture Days that took place in Dushanbe from May 9 to May 12 of May 2017 was the first such an event since Tajikistan and Uzbekistan gained independence in 1991.
