Russia will hand over one more mobile treatment and diagnostics unit to Tajikistan.

An official handover ceremony of the KAMAZ-based mobile clinic will take place in Dushanbe on November 29.

The ceremony will be attended by Tajik Minister of Health and Social Protection Nasim Olimzoda, Russia’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov and UNAIDS Representative in Tajikistan M. Boltayeva.

The mobile treatment and diagnostics unit will be handed over to Tajikistan in the framework of the  Russian Technical Assistance Program to Fight HIV/AIDS and Other Infectious Diseases in Eastern Europe and Central Asia Countries and will be come will become the fourth one in Tajikistan.

The mobile clinic will provide medical services to residents of remote mountainous areas, which do not have the necessary in-patient care infrastructure.  

This technical assistance program, which also covers Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, has operated in Tajikistan since 2013.
