Foreign direct investments made in Tajikistan’s economy over the past eleven years are equal to only 11 percent of remittances sent by labor migrants to local banks for their families over the same eleven-year period.  

A total volume of foreign direct investment made in the country’s economy over the report period has amounted to 3.6 billion U.S. dollars, while an aggregate amount of remittances sent to Tajik banks over the same period has been 30.4 billion U.S. dollars.
