In 2008-2018, imports into Tajikistan amounted to 36.3 billion U.S. dollars.  Meanwhile, remittances sent to Tajik banks over the report period amounted to 30.4 billion U.S. dollars, which is equal to 84 percent of the country’s imports.   Tajikistan’s exports in 2008-2018 amounted to only 3.6 billion U.S. dollars.
