The Government of Tajikistan is expected to establish a lending agency to support industrial production facilities and exporters.  This lending facility will be established at the Entrepreneurship Support Fund under the Government of Tajikistan.

“The work on establishing this bank has already begun,” an official source at the Entrepreneurship Support Fund told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to him, this lending facility is being established to support further development of small and medium-sized industrial production facilities and domestic exporters.

The bank is expected to begin operating in 2020 and it will provide loans at low interest rates, the source added.

The Entrepreneurship Support Fund under the Government of Tajikistan was established in 2013 and it has provided loans to domestic entrepreneurs for the period of three years at an annual interest rate of 12 percent.

The loans are usually provided to industrial production facilities and exporters.  To-date, the Entrepreneurship Support Fund has reportedly financed about 300 entrepreneurs and exporters.

Current loan portfolio of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund is more than 200 million somoni.
