A new hosiery factory has been introduced into operation in Dushanbe, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

An official opening ceremony of the factory called Vahdat LLC took place on January 15 and was attended by President Emomali Rahmon and Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali.

The factory with an annual capacity of 19.2 million pairs of socks has been built in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district.

The project was financed by local entrepreneur Ilhom Mirzoyev.  Today, the first line of the enterprise was introduced into operation and the second line is expected to be introduced into operation next year.  

Chinese and Italian equipment has been installed at the enterprise and it plans to export its products to Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
