Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at more than 4.5 billion U.S. dollars in 2019

In 2019, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan amounted to 4.523.7 billion U.S. dollars, which was 107.1 percent of the 2019 level or 294.4 million U.S. dollars more, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

The trade balance last year was negative and amounted to more than 2.174.9 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in 2019 reportedly amounted to 1.174.4 billion U.S. dollars, which was 9.4 percent or 101.1 million U.S. dollars more than in 2018.

Mineral products accounted for 39.1 percent of Tajikistan’s exports, non-precious metals and products from them accounted for 18.6 percent of the country’s exports and textiles accounted for 17.1 percent of last year’s exports.     

Imports of goods into the country last year amounted to 3.349.3 billion U.S. dollars, which was 6.3 percent or 198.3 million U.S. dollars more than in 2018.

The share of mineral products in the country’s imports reportedly amounted to 18.8 percent, transport means and equipment – 12.7 percent, and products of chemical industry – 9.8 percent.   

Last year, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 105 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

In 2019, the major trading partners of Tajikistan were Russia (the two-way trade between Tajikistan and Russia has valued at more than 1 billion US dollars over the report period), Kazakhstan (about 960 million U.S. dollars), China (660 million U.S. dollars), and Uzbekistan (362 million U.S. dollars).
