Asia-Plus News Agency and  Accelerate Prosperity Tajikistan Public Foundation have signed a memorandum on cooperation in providing information support for development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Tajikistan.

The document was inked by Mr. Iskandar Ikromi, Executive Director of Asia-Plus, and Mr. Roziq Chorshanbiyev, Head of Accelerate Prosperity Tajikistan, at the end of the last week.

Accelerate Prosperity Tajikistan has decided to support the media project, Made in Tajikistan, which will be launched by Asia-Plus this month.

In the framework of the project, Asia-Plus journalists will release a series of videos about private production companies operating in Tajikistan as well as about successes of domestic small and medium-sized enterprises that managed to organize production of high quality products under support of Accelerate Prosperity.

The mentioned media project has been supported in the framework of the Supporting Cooperation and Opportunities for Regional Economic Development (SCORED) Project, which is reportedly implemented by Accelerate Prosperity under financial support of European Union and the Agha Khan Development Foundation (AKDN).  The project aims to  catalyze regional economic development and integration in the border regions of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.

Asia-Plus Media Group Director General Umed Babakhanov noted that information support for development of SME in the country is one priorities of the Media Group’s activities.

Earlier, Closed Joint-Stock Company (CJSC) TADES had announced its support for the Made in Tajikistan Project through its shareholder, Mr. Khofiz Shakhidi.

Founded in 2016 as a joint initiative of the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) and the Aga Khan Fund for Economic Development (AKFED), Accelerate Prosperity Tajikistan has gained business expertise in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) and Khatlon province and built a network of mentors in the most promising industries, including commercial services, agri-business, tourism, ICT and textiles.

Accelerate Prosperity works with partners – like the University of Central Asia's School of Professional and Continuing Education entrepreneurship program – to link graduates to mentors and provide prospective facilitation or provision of financing.

CJSC TADES was established in 2004 and it currently holds a strong position in the market of engineering services in the sphere of energy, implementing projects in Tajikistan and outside it.  The priority areas of the company’s activity include design construction and rehabilitation of electric power facilities.
