French commercial banks can open their representative offices in Tajikistan

On Tuesday March 3, Jamshed Nurmahmadzoda, the First Deputy Head of the National Bank of Tajikistan, met here with Mr. Pascal Lorot, Adviser to the President of France for Economic Issues in Central Asia, according to the NBT press center.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of France to Tajikistan, Mrs. Yasmine Gouedard, also attended the meeting.  

In the course of the talks, the sides reportedly exchange views on issues related to training of qualified specialists for Tajikistan’s banking sector, development of correspondent relationships between commercial banks of Tajikistan and France, and opening of representative offices of French commercial banks in Tajikistan

The branch of Iran’s Tajerat Bank, subsidiary bank of the National Bank of Pakistan and Halyk Bank Tajikistan, the subsidiary bank of Kazakhstan’s Halyk Bank, now operate in Tajikistan.  

Besides, foreign and international investments are present in equities of The First MicroFinaceBank of Tajikistan (FMFB-T), Kafolat Bank (Iran) and Arvand Bank.
