Tajik PM holds talks with Russian and Kazakh counterparts to discuss measures to prevent further spread of COVID-19 infection

On Tuesday April 7, Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Mikhail Mishustin.

According to the Russian government’s official website, the two, in particular, discussed measures to prevent further spread of a novel coronavirus (COVID-19).  

Qohir Rasoulzoda appreciated Russia’s practical support for Tajikistan in preventing the spread of COVID-19 and returning Tajik nationals home, the Russian government’s official website says.

Besides, Mishustin and Rasoulzoda reportedly discussed trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Tajikistan.  They underlined the significance of maintaining the volume of commodity flows in the bilateral trade. 

Tajikistan’s national news agency Khovar reports that Qohir Rasoulzoda also had a telephone conversation with Kazakhstan’s Premier Askar Mamin.

They reportedly exchanged views on number of topical issues of the day, including the ways to prevent the spread and outbreak of the novel coronavirus infection. 

Rasoulzoda and Mamin also discussed issues related to export of Tajikistan’s early agricultural goods, including onions, to Kazakhstan and import of the essential goods such as wheat and flour from Kazakhstan into Tajikistan
