Tajikistan’s external trade turnover estimated at 1.036 billion USD in January-March this year

Tajikistan’s external trade turnover has amounted to 1.036 billion U.S. dollars over the first three months of this year, which is 107.5 percent of the January-March 2019 level or 72.2 million U.S. dollars more, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan. 

In January-March this year, the trade balance was negative and amounted to 626.8 million U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in January-March have reportedly amounted to 204.6 million U.S. dollars, which was 16.1 percent or 39.2 million U.S. dollars fewer than in the same period last year.

Imports of goods into the country over the same three-month period have amounted to 831.4 million U.S. dollars, which was 15.5 percent or 111.4 million U.S. dollars more than in January-March last year.

In January-February, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 104 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the first three months of this year, Tajikistan’s major trading partners of Tajikistan’s export sales were; Turkey – 31.2 percent; Kazakhstan – 26.3 percent; Uzbekistan – 8.2 percent; Afghanistan – 7.7 percent; China – 6.2 percent; Russia – 5.1 percent; Georgia and Belgium – 2.2 percent each; Latvia – 1.7 percent; Pakistan – 1.6 percent, Italy – 1.5 percent; etc.

Over the same three-month period, the major trading partners of Tajikistan’s imports were: Russia – 30.1 percent; Kazakhstan – 24.1 percent; China – 14.9 percent; Ukraine – 6.3 percent; Turkey – 3.7 percent; Germany – 2.7 percent; Uzbekistan – 2.1 percent; the United States and South Korea – 1.8 percent each; Japan – 1.7 percent; Iran – 1.3 percent; Kyrgyzstan – 1.1 percent; etc.
