Authorities have denied rumors that Jamoliddin Nouraliyev, the First Deputy Head of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) and Shohrukh Saidzoda, Head of the Interior Ministry Criminal Investigation Directorate have been hospitalized with symptoms of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) as absolutely unfounded.   

The NBT press center told Asia-Plus Friday (May 1) afternoon that Nouraliyev is in his office and “he is in good health.”  

As far as Shohrukh Saidzoda is concerned, he reportedly caught a common cold and is currently self-isolated at home.  

Jamoliddin Nouraliyev is the son-in-law of President Emomali Rahmon.  He is married to Ozoda Rahmon, the eldest daughter of Emomali Rahmon, who heads President’s Executive Office. 

Jamoliddin Nouraliyev has served as First Deputy Head of the National Bank of Tajikistan since May 2015.   

Lieutenant-Colonel Shohrukh Saidzoda was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Criminal Investigation Directorate in December 2017.  

Shohrukh Saidzoda, the son of the then Customs Service chief Abdufattoh Ghoib.  Shohrukh Saidzoda is member of the Football Federation of Tajikistan and President of the FC Istiqlol.  He is known as close friend to President Rahmon’s son, Rustam Emomali, who is now Mayor of Dushanbe also Speaker of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper house of parliament).    

Shohrukh Saidzoda and Rustam Emomali reportedly studied together at school and university.

In his interview with VIPzone magazine, Shohrukh Saidzoda said in 2014 that he graduated from the Faculties of Economics and Law at Tajik National University and took special courses in Moscow on providing security for VIPs and safety of strategic facilities.
