Currently, only seven border crossing points (BCPs) located along Tajikistan’s border are open for cargo transportation.

Farrukh Nematzoda, an official with the Ministry of Transport (MoT) of Tajikistan, told this on May 26 at a webinar organized by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) in cooperation with Tajikistan Union of Professional Consultants.

Three of those seven BCPs operate along Tajikistan’s common border with Uzbekistan, two others operate along Tajikistan’s common border with Kyrgyzstan, and one each along the Tajik-Afghan border and the Tajik-Chinese border.

Passage through the border crossing point Kulma on the Tajik-Chinese border in the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) reportedly opened in early May.

Nematzoda said drivers underwent rapid response test for COVID-19 infection.
