Social allowances expected to be paid to poor families beginning on July 1, 2020

By decree issued on May 14, the Government of Tajikistan has approved the mechanism of assignment and payment of targeted social benefits in the country.  

Under this document, low-income families living in the following regions will receive social allowances beginning on July 1, 2020:

 

– Vakhsh, Vose, Danghara, Dousti, Kushoniyon, Nosir Khusrav, Hamadoni, Qubodiyon, Khuroson, Jaihun and Jomi districts in the Khatlon province;

– Asht, Mastchoh, Jabbor-Rasoulov, Bobojoin-Ghafourov, Devashtich and Spitamen districts in the Sughd province;

– Varzob district, Vahdat Township, Roghun City, and Tursunzoda City in the districts subordinate to the center;

– all four districts of Dushanbe.

 

Meanwhile, no districts of the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO) are mentioned in the document.        

The annual allowance for a low-income family reportedly amounts to 464.00 somoni and the low-income families will receive quarterly 116.00 somoni each.

The social allowances will be paid to the vulnerable families through the brunches of Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank).  

Aged citizens living alone and families being in the care of disabled people of groups I and II or more than two people with disabilities will get served first.  

Expenditures on social allowances are reportedly paid by the national budget of the country.
