Three more labs for implementation of COVID diagnostic test are expected to be launched in the Sughd province in the near future soon, according to the Sughd Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision.

A source at the  Sughd Center for Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision says the new virology labs will be launched in Panjakent, Istaravshan and Isfara.

Now, two labs for implementation of COVID diagnostic test operate in the city of Khujand and the Bobojon-Ghafourov district, carrying out up to 200 PRC-based tests daily each, the source added.

According to data from the Sughd Health Directorate, 1,938 officially confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been reported in northern Tajikistan.  1,891 patients have reportedly recovered and 16 COVID-19 patients died.
