Tajikistan has resumed regular flights to Dubai.  The first Dushanbe-Dubai-Dushanbe flight is expected to be operated today night, Jamila Huseinova, a spokeswoman or Dushanbe International Airport, told Asia-Plus in an interview.

According to her, flydubai will still operate one flight per week, while before the pandemic it had operated up to five flights per week.   .

“Tajik air carrier Somon Air will also operate flights from Dushanbe to Dubai.  It will operate its first flight to Dubai on August 6,” Huseinova said.

According to the Somon Air press center, the air carrier will operate the Dushanbe-Dubai flight on August 6, at 5:00 am.

The Somon Air press center says persons wanting to travel from Dushanbe to Dubai by this flight will have to show a negative coronavirus test completed within 72 hours before departure.

Somon Air is the first private airline in Tajikistan with an office headquartered in Dushanbe.  The airline operations are based at Dushanbe International Airport.  The airline started operating on February 5, 2008 with regular flights to Moscow and Dubai.  Somon Air also serves as the official carrier of President of the Republic of Tajikistan and other Tajikistan high-ranking officials.

flydubai is a government-owned budget airline in Dubai, with its head office and flight operations in Terminal 2 of Dubai International Airport.  The airline operates a total of 95 destinations, serving the Middle East, Africa, Asia and Europe from Dubai.

Recall, Tajik authorities have suspended all international flights.  Tajikistan closed all its airports at midnight on March 19-20 due to the coronavirus concerns.  Only charters flights to repatriate Tajik nationals stranded in foreign countries due to the coronavirus crisis have been operated so far.
