A new bank – Sanoatsodirotbonk (industry & export bank) – is expected to begin operating in Tajikistan soon.  The new bank has been established on the basis of the State Entrepreneurship Support Fund for financing of entrepreneurs’ projects.

By government’s decree the State Entrepreneurship Support Fund under the Government of Tajikistan has been reorganized to the State Unitary Enterprise (SUE) Sanoatsodirotbonk.

Recall, the State Entrepreneurship Support Fund was established in 2014 to support the successful development of entrepreneurial companies through an array of business support resources and services.

In a statement delivered at a meeting with entrepreneurs and investors in Dushanbe, President Emomali Rahmon noted on October 14, 2014 that the State Entrepreneurship Support Fund’s budget will be replenished with 1 billion somoni within the next seven years.

Currently, 18 commercial banks operate in Tajikistan, and only one of them is a state-run bank – Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank).
