One more COVID-19 patient died in Tajikistan yesterday, bringing a total number of the novel coronavirus-linked deaths in the country to 66, according to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP).

37 new officially confirmed cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) were reported in Tajikistan yesterday, bringing a total number of officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the country to 8,203 as of the evening of August 20, a MoHSPP said. 

7,006 (85.4 percent) COVID-19 patients have reportedly recovered as of the evening of August 20, 2020.    

Besides, more than 1,000 people in Tajikistan have reportedly been treating COVID-19 at home under supervision of family doctors.

Meanwhile, according to COVID-19 data provided by Worldmeter, the coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 213 countries and territories around the world and 2 international conveyances.  The list of countries and territories and their continental regional classification is based on the United Nations Geoscheme. 

Tajikistan ranks 93rd on this list in terms of the number of officially confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus. 

Other Central Asian nations are placed on this list as follows: Kazakhstan with the highest number of officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 ranks 26th, while Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan rank 53rd and 58th respectively.
