The Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) Tajikistan has received funding from the European Commission through the Pakistan-Afghanistan-Tajikistan Regional Integration Program (PATRIP) Foundation for the implementation of the Supporting Cooperation and Opportunities for Regional Economic Development (SCORED) – a project financed in partnership with the Aga Khan Foundation United Kingdom (AKF UK).

The objective of the SCORED is to catalyze regional economic development and integration in the border regions of Afghanistan and Tajikistan.  The specific objective is to facilitate an enabling physical and institutional environment for local business development, trade and production in the target areas.

In the framework of the SCORED project construction of a cross-border suspension bridge between Tajikistan and Afghanistan is planned to be implemented.

The Aga Khan Foundation Tajikistan invites interested parties to submit their sealed quotations – technical and financial separately for performing the following works:

Construction of a cross-border suspension bridge over the Panj River (length: 296 meters, width of carriageway: 4.5 meters, weight-bearing capacity: 60 tons) connecting Kokul village, Farkhor district, Khatlon province, Tajikistan to Ai-Khonum port, Takhar province, Afghanistan, including: strengthening of the riverbank near the bridge; construction of approaches to the bridge from two sides (Afghan side and Tajik side); and setting up a power line and transformer. 

Bidding will be conducted in accordance with the procedures of the International Competitive Bidding and procurement policy of the Aga Khan Foundation and PATRIP Foundation and is open for all qualified bidders.

It is compulsory for the interested bidders to possess a proper license for the construction of a suspension bridge.
