Acting Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Muhammad Hanif Atmar arrived today at the invitation of the Tajik side in Dushanbe.

Heads of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and Afghanistan, Muhammad Ashraf Ghani agreed on the visit of Atmar to Dushanbe in a telephone conversation on August 21.

In addition to the head of state, Atmar intends to meet with the leadership of the Foreign Ministry and the State Committee for National Security within two days.

The main part of the meetings will be devoted to security and cooperation issues. The parties will discuss border security, the fight against terrorism and drug trafficking, as well as cooperation in trade, energy and transport.
