In February of this year, the government of the country ordered the Ministry of Finance, in cooperation with other ministries and departments, to take urgent measures to reduce the volume of debt of large state-owned enterprises.

Among the enterprises whose financial obligations and accounts payable are instructed to reduce are Barki Tojik, Tajik Aluminum Company, Dushanbe International Airport, Tajik Air, Tajik Railways..

The largest debtor among Tajik enterprises is Barki Tojik.

The energy holding's accounts payable as of January 1 of this year amounted to 26 billion somoni (about $ 2.7 billion), of which 21 billion somoni falls on the implemented investment projects in the electric power industry (25 projects have already been implemented, 13 more are underway).

The company owes the remaining 5 billion somoni to two Sangtuda HPPs, Orienbank, through the purchase of fuel oil, etc.
