The Government of Tajikistan approved an agreement with the UN Environment Program represented by the Swiss Fund for Mine Action in the Republic in the field of population safety from the adverse effects of pesticides.

Recently in Dushanbe, Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection Bahodur Sheralizoda and Director of the Swiss Foundation for Mine Action (FSD) Dr. Nekho Din Mohammad signed an agreement on the implementation of the project "Demonstration of non-thermal treatment of waste containing dichlorodiphenyl-trichloroethane in Central Asia".

The main goal of the project is to ensure the environmental safety of the population from the adverse effects of pesticides and other persistent organic pollutants, especially dichlorodiphenyl-trichloroethane (DDT).

This project was developed by the Committee on Environmental Protection in cooperation with the UN Environment Program and was approved by the government of the republic on August 31, 2020 (Resolution No. 471).
