The final decision on this issue will be made tomorrow, following the talks between the Prime Ministers of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.

A representative delegation of the government of Uzbekistan, which included the heads of almost all ministries and departments of the neighboring state, arrived in Dushanbe this morning, said a source in the government of Tajikistan.

The government delegation is accompanied by a large group of Uzbek businessmen who will take part in the Tajik-Uzbek business forum tomorrow.

Today, the relevant ministries and departments of Tajikistan will hold meetings with representatives of the government of Uzbekistan, during which they will discuss the opening of borders between the two states and the resumption of flights between Tashkent and Dushanbe, which were closed on March 16 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The parties will also discuss the development and enhancement of cooperation between the two states in the spheres of economy, finance, energy, culture, education, transport, trade, tourism, industry, science.

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov will become the first head of government of a foreign state to visit Tajikistan after the onset of coronavirus infection.

Aripov, in addition to participating in the meeting of the intergovernmental commission, will visit the Tajik-Uzbek business forum, will hold meetings with the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the Prime Minister of the Republic Kohir Rasulzoda.
