Yesterday, September 29, the seventh meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on trade and economic cooperation was held in Dushanbe. Details of the meeting, except for general provisions, are not reported.

The meeting was attended by delegations of Tajikistan headed by the Prime Minister of the country Kokhir Rasulzoda and Uzbekistan, chaired by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.

«The meeting analyzed and discussed important bilateral and multilateral issues, proposed specific plans to strengthen interaction between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan»,- reported by NIAT "Khovar".

It is noted that the trade turnover between the two countries increased 30 times: from $ 12 million in 2015 to $ 362 million in 2019. For six months of 2020, the volume of trade turnover with Uzbekistan amounted to more than $ 217 million. Trade turnover with Uzbekistan is more than 7% of the total volume of trade of Tajikistan with foreign countries.
