Tajikistan’s external trade turnover has amounted to some 3.8 billion U.S. dollars over the first ten months of this year, which is 3.3 percent more than in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan

In January-October this year, the trade balance was negative and amounted to nearly 1.2 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in January-October have reportedly amounted to more 1.3 billion U.S. dollars, which is nearly 30.4 percent or 475 million U.S. dollars more than in the same period last year.

Over the reporting period, the country’s exports mainly included precious and semiprecious stones and metal (an average 3.1-fold increase), various industrial goods, food products and plant products.

In January-October this year, the major trading partners of Tajikistan’s exports were Switzerland – 55 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s exports, Turkey – 13.4 percent, and Kazakhstan – 9.2 percent.      

Imports of goods into the country over the same ten-month period have amounted to more than 2.5 billion U.S. dollars, which was 6.3 percent or 75 million U.S. dollars fewer than in January-October last year.

The main items of Tajikistan’s imports were oil products, products of chemical industry, wheat flour, food products, mineral products, etc.  

In January-October, major trading partners of Tajikistan’s imports were Russia – 30.6 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s imports, Kazakhstan – 23.6 percent, and China – 14.8 percent.  

Over the same ten-month period, Tajikistan reportedly had trade relations with 110 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.

Over the reporting period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 804 million U.S. dollars (a two-way trade turnover); Kazakhstan – 713 million U.S. dollars, Switzerland – 693 million U.S. dollars, China – 400 million U.S. dollars, Uzbekistan – 272 million U.S. dollars, and Turkey – 265 million U.S. dollars
