Tajikistan, Russia discuss situation of Tajik migrant workers during pandemic

Tajik and Russian officials have discussed the situation of Tajik labor migrants during the pandemic. 

On November 30, Tajik Ambassador to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov met in Moscow with Russian Minister of Construction and Housing Irek Faizullin.

The two reportedly discussed issues related to recruiting skilled Tajik specialist for work in the Russian construction sector. 

Tajik diplomat noted that the authorities in Tajikistan are interested in using investment opportunities of the Russian business in construction and industrial sectors of the country, according to the Tajik diplomatic mission in Moscow.  

Meanwhile Tajik Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan, Ms. Shirin Amonzoda, on December 1 met ere with Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Igor Lyakin-Frolov.

According to the Tajik Labor Ministry press center, they discussed  development of the common statistical system, living conditions of labor migrants in Russia, organized recruitment and sending of labor migrants to the Russian Federation by charter flights.

Amonzoda and Lyakin-Frolov reportedly also discussed the establishment of joint labor training centers in Tajikistan and development of the joint labor migration program.
