A new round of political consultations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Federal Republic of Germany was held yesterday in a video-conferencing format, according to the Tajik MFA information department. 

Headed by Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Muzaffar Huseinzoda and Director for Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia at the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs Michael Siebert, the delegations reportedly discussed a wide range of issues related to expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany in political, economic, social, scientific and cultural spheres, as well as in the field of tourism and security.

They also exchanged views on cooperation between the two countries within the framework of regional and international organizations.

Both sides emphasized the importance of expansion of bilateral cooperation in the field of energy, health care, migration, as well as in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic and mitigating the effects of climate change.

The parties also exchanged views on deepening inter-parliamentary ties, extending legal foundation, expanding cooperation within the framework of the EU’s new Central Asian Strategy and the regional initiative "Green Central Asia", the Tajik MFA information department said.
