Tajikistan’s external trade turnover has amounted to more than 4.1 billion U.S. dollars over the first eleven of this year, which is which is 101.5 percent of the level of January-November of 2020 level or 60 million U.S. dollars more, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan

In January-November this year, the trade balance was negative and amounted to nearly 1.5 billion U.S. dollars.

Exports of goods in January-November have reportedly amounted to more 1.3 billion U.S. dollars, which is nearly 23.4 percent or 250 million U.S. dollars more than in the same period last year.

Over the reporting period, the country’s exports mainly included precious and semiprecious stones and metal — 52.2 percent, mineral resources, cement, electricity – 18.1 percent, non-ferrous metals — about 13 percent), fabrics – 12.9 percent.

In January-October this year, the major trading partners of Tajikistan’s exports were Switzerland – 55 percent of the overall volume of Tajikistan’s exports, Turkey – 13.4 percent, and Kazakhstan – 9.2 percent.     

Imports of goods into the country over the same eleven-month period have amounted to 2.8 billion U.S. dollars, which was 6.4 percent or 190 million U.S. dollars fewer than in January-November last year.

The main items of Tajikistan’s imports were oil products, products of chemical industry, wheat flour, food products, mineral products, etc. 

Over the first eleven months this year, Tajikistan had trade relations with 108 countries, including ten CIS member nations.

Over the reporting period, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 883 million U.S. dollars (a two-way trade turnover); Kazakhstan – 796 million U.S. dollars, Switzerland – 695 million U.S. dollars, China – 438 million U.S. dollars, Uzbekistan – 300 million U.S. dollars, and Turkey – 292 million U.S. dollars.
