A fire that broke out at Dushanbe’s Sultoni Kabir bazaar to sell building materials reportedly spread around an area of 610 square meters.

The Interior Ministry says the fire broke out today morning at about 7:30 am at Sultoni Kabir’s two rows to sell plastic products.

The fire reportedly spread around the area of 610 square meters and its damage amounted to 800,000 somonis.    

Senior representatives of the Interior Ministry, the Emergencies Committee and the Dushanbe Administration arrived in the fire site.

According to the preliminary data, the fire was caused by electrical malfunction, the Inteior Ministry said, noting that no injured was reported.

An investigation into the cause of the fire was launched.

It is already the second large fire breaking out at the Sultoni Kabir bazaar.  The fire that broke out at the bazaar in June 2018 reportedly spread around the area of 1,200 square meters.
