A citizen of Tajikistan working in Russia has recovered more than 1 million rubles in unpaid wages with the assistance of the Representation of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population (MoLMEP) of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation.
According to the representation, the migrant filed a complaint in May regarding unpaid wages owed by a private company in Russia.
Following the complaint, representatives of the agency contacted the employer and requested that the outstanding debt be settled.
As a result, on May 29, the company paid the worker the full amount owed — 1.065 million rubles. The name of the employer was not disclosed.
The representation noted that protecting the labor rights of Tajik citizens working in Russia remains one of its key priorities.
Earlier, the agency reported that during the first quarter of 2026, Tajik labor migrants in Russia recovered a total of 8.19 million rubles in unpaid wages with the assistance of the representation and relevant Russian authorities.
According to the agency, the number of wage-related complaints from Tajik citizens has declined compared to the same period last year.
Officials attribute the decrease to closer cooperation between the representation and Russian labor oversight agencies, stronger monitoring of wage payments to foreign workers, and ongoing improvements in migration and labor legislation regulating the employment of migrants in Russia.
The representation also reminded Tajik citizens working in Russia of the importance of signing a formal employment contract after obtaining a work permit, or patent, and advised workers to keep the original contract in their possession.
In case of labor disputes or other employment-related issues, Tajik citizens are encouraged to seek assistance from the Representation of the Ministry of Labor, Migration and Employment of the Population of Tajikistan in the Russian Federation.
