On Saturday April 24, Tajik Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda met in the Tajik northern city of Khujand with his Uzbek counterpart Abdulla Aripov. 

According to the press center of the Sughd governor’s office, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan in the fields of trade, investment, industry, energy, transportation, education and health care.   

The parties reportedly also pointed to the necessity of developing the bilateral trade between the countries, constructing enterprises and workshops in Tajikistan’s free economic zones and construction of facilities of various purposes.

Uzbekistan is one of major trading partner of Tajikistan and the bilateral trade between the countries last year valued at 333.8 million U.S. dollars.  

In the course of the talks, the sides noted that 29 new cooperation documents are currently under consideration of the governments, the press center of the Sughd governor’s office said.
