Co-chaired by Tajik President Qohir Rasouzloda and his Uzbek counterpart Abdulla Aripov, the next session of the Tajik-Uzbek Joint Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation is kicking off in the Uzbek capital Tashkent today. 

A source within the Tajik government says that during two days, the sides will discuss issues related to further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields, of agriculture, energy, investment and transportation.  

The sides are reportedly also expected to seek ways to increase the bilateral trade to 1 billion U.S. dollars, the source said.  

The government delegations of the two countries will also discuss issues related to preparations for an official visit of Uzbek president to Tajikistan scheduled for June 10-12, 2021, the source added.

Uzbek president’s official visit to Tajikistan is reportedly expected to be resulted in signing of about 30 government-to-government on cooperation on cooperation in the fields of energy, transportation, trade, investment, security, education and culture.
