Ms. Mirjana Spoljaric Egger, Assistant Secretary-General for the United Nations and  Director of the UNDP Regional Bureau for Europe and Central Asia, will visit Tajikistan from 20 to 22 June 2021 following her visit to Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan, according to UNDP's Country Office in Tajikistan.

Ms. Spoljaric will meet government officials and other stakeholders to discuss national and regional development issues and UNDP’s cooperation with Tajikistan to support integrated solutions to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and to better recover from COVID-19 socioeconomic impact.

On June 22, Ms. Spoljaric will open the round table “Investing in the Future: Opportunities for Innovative Entrepreneurship in Tajikistan,” hosted jointly by the government of Tajikistan and UNDP.

UNDP in Tajikistan focuses on four key development priority areas and targets the most vulnerable and excluded groups such as women, persons with disabilities, persons living with HIV and youth.  Using its strong partnership with government institutions, UN organizations, development partners, private sector and civil society, UNDP advises on Human Rights and evidence-based reforms, supports capacity development and development actions across the country to ensure no one is left behind.
