Twenty-four new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) have been officially confirmed in Tajikistan as of the evening of July 1, bringing a total number of COVID-19 cases officially reported in the country since June 21 to 194.

Thus, a total number of the officially confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Tajikistan has reached 13,523 since April 30, 2020, when its index cases were confirmed in Dushanbe and Khujand.

According to data from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population (MoHSPP), sixteen COVID-19 patients recovered in the country yesterday.

Thus, the number of those who have been cured in Tajikistan since April 30, 2020 reached 13,318 (99 percent).

A MoHSPP claims that the confirmed number of the coronavirus-linked deaths remains the same in the country – 90.

Despite the fact that to-date, various media outlets in Tajikistan have published reports about at least 10 coronavirus-linked deaths in the country, the Health Ministry continues insisting that no coronavirus-linked deaths have been detected in Tajikistan since the new wage of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) was officially reported in the county on June 21.

The Health Ministry denies reports that these persons died of COVID-19 as ‘unfounded.’

Meanwhile, the coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting 220 countries and territories.  According to COVID-19 data provided by Worldmeter, coronavirus cases around the globe have been reported at 183,427,884 since China reported its first cases to the World Health Organization (WHO) in December 2019.  Of them, 167,933,954 have recovered and 3,971,594 have died.
