Perhaps the reason for the decision was scandals related to the disclosures of "Dissernet".

The President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon ordered the approval of the Procedure for giving consent to the writing and defense of dissertations to government officials.

The order signed on August 27 of this year was published today, September 7, on the portal of legal information of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic.

The developed document determines the list of officials, the procedure for submitting documents and obtaining the consent of the president to write and defend dissertations.

The new rules for writing and defending dissertations by Tajik officials may be due to the fact that representatives of the republic in recent years have often been accused of plagiarism by the specialized portal Dissernet.

The President of Tajikistan last year at a meeting with scientists and intellectuals noted that the reason for this attitude is, first of all, "the inertia of scientific leaders, carelessness of applicants and superficial compilation of dissertations."
