Presidents confirmed the similarity or closeness of the positions of Tajikistan and Turkey

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon on September 9 held a telephone conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

"The President of Turkey warmly congratulated the President and the people of Tajikistan on the state holiday – the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of independence, noting the country's tremendous achievements over the years of independence along the path of socio-economic development and strengthening its constructive role in addressing important issues on the regional and international agenda", reported by the press service of the President of Tajikistan.

It is noted that during the conversation, topical issues of further expanding Tajik-Turkish multifaceted cooperation, including in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas, in the field of security and the joint struggle against global challenges and threats, were discussed. The parties expressed satisfaction with the level and content of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.

The parties paid special attention to the alarming trends in the development of the situation in Afghanistan.

During the discussion of the problems of Afghanistan, the presidents, confirming the similarity or similarity of the positions of Tajikistan and Turkey on its topical issues, stressed the need to create an inclusive government in the country with the participation of representatives of all ethnic groups living in it and pointed out the relevance of providing humanitarian assistance to the people of Afghanistan, s the press service of the president emphasize.
