The main commodity supplied by Tajikistan to Afghanistan is electricity.

The total volume of trade between Tajikistan and Afghanistan in August 2021 amounted to $ 12.3 million, the Agency on Statistics under the President of Tajikistan reports.

In the structure of bilateral trade between these countries, $ 12.2 million (99.2% of the total) falls on the supply of Tajik products to Afghanistan, and just over $ 0.1 million (0.8%) – on imports from Afghanistan.

In general, in January-August 2021, the volume of Tajik-Afghan trade amounted to $ 64.5 million, which is 22% more than in the same period of 2020.

Exports of Tajik products for eight months of this year to Afghanistan were made in the amount of $ 63.5 million, and Afghan goods were imported in the amount of $ 1 million.

There are no official data on the commodity groups of the Tajik-Afghan trade in the report of the statistical department, but it was previously reported that the main commodity supplied by Tajikistan to Afghanistan is electricity.
