President Emomali Rahmon today has begun a two-day working visit to the northern province of Sughd to inaugurate a number of social and economic facilities and attend event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence.

While in Sughd, the head of state will visit the cities of Khujand and Buston and Jabbor-Rasoulov and Bobojon-Ghafourov districts, an official with the Sughd regional administration told Asia-Plus in an interview. 

“Three kindergartens, health center, four industrial enterprises, new buildings of “Oxford”, “Pulodov” and “Vorisoni Ilm”, a new building of the Sughd prosecutor’s office and some other facilities will be commissioned with the participation of the president,” the source said.  

Theatrical show dedicated to the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence will take place at the central stadium in Khujand today evening. 

Meanwhile, the Tajik president’s official website says Emomali Rahmon today morning inaugurated a new building of the terminal at Khujand International Airport.

Besides, the president today morning attended an official opening ceremony of the asbestos slate producing enterprise in the city of Buston, the Tajik president’s official website added.
