Construction of building of Tajikistan’s Embassy in Dushanbe officially commenced on December 8.

A groundbreaking ceremony for construction of the Embassy’s building was attended Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin, who was on his working visit to Uzbekistan, says the Tajik MFA information department.  

In accordance with a government-to-government agreement between Tajikistan and Uzbekistan on allotment of sites for construction of the diplomatic missions, the complex will be built on an area of 1.4 hectares in Tashkent’s Sebzar neighborhood unit.  

The complex will consist of the chief of mission residence, consulate building, space to accommodate the staff, banquet and conference halls, sports ground and car park.   

Recall, a new building of Uzbekistan’s Embassy in Dushanbe is expected to be constructed by October 2022. 

Uzbekistan’s Cabinet of Ministers approved government’s regulation on construction of a new building of the diplomatic mission in Dushanbe on September 18, 2019.  The new building of the Uzbek Embassy in Dushanbe is expected to officially open on October 1, 2022.

A plot of 1.2 hectares has reportedly been allotted for construction of the diplomatic mission building in Dushanbe.

The government-to-government agreement between Dushanbe and Tashkent on the mutual provision of sites for construction buildings of diplomatic missions was signed in August 2018.
